We at FMBA decdied to break the ice by answering the most frequent ask question about our organzation. We hope you gain a better understanding of FMBA's values, contributions and identity.

Since you guys are a minority focused organization does that mean everyone is excluded?
NO!!!!! In fact all we have done is "included" more people to the baseball community at large. However, we do not turn away parents or players or coaches that may not represent the majority ownership or members of the group.
What is the mission of the Florida Minority Baseball Alliance (FMBA)?
FMBA is dedicated to providing opportunities, resources, and support for minority coaches, parents and players in baseball. Our mission is to ensure representation, development, and success for players at all levels, while building community and creating a strong network of scouts, coaches, and families.
Why is it important for an organization like FMBA to exist?
Representation matters. Minority players have historically been underrepresented in baseball, both on and off the field. FMBA exists to close that gap, offering mentorship, resources, and pathways to help talented minority players succeed while advocating for equity in the sport.
What types of people are involved in FMBA?
FMBA is powered by a diverse group of individuals, including professional scouts, high school and travel ball coaches, volunteers, parents, and former players. These leaders work together to support, mentor, and guide the next generation of baseball talent.
How does FMBA support minority players in their development?
We focus on player development by offering showcases, workshops, skill training, and access to resources like scouting opportunities, college recruitment education, and exposure to professional-level training tools.
What makes FMBA unique compared to other baseball organizations?
FMBA is minority-owned and operated, providing a space where coaches, parents and players are the focus (In that order). We celebrate culture, history, and community while prioritizing opportunities for minority players to thrive both on and off the field. Core Values: Engage, Educate, Support, Build
How does FMBA impact the community beyond baseball?
We aim to build strong families, develop leaders, and create opportunities for growth. Beyond baseball, we provide mentorship, academic support, and resources that focus on personal development and life skills, preparing players for success in all areas of life.
Are there specific challenges FMBA addresses that minority players face?
Yes, many minority players face limited access to resources such as training equipment, travel team fees, and scouting opportunities. FMBA works to break these barriers by providing support, exposure, and advocacy for those who may not have had equal access. We also provide a safe space for our community to call upon when on and off the field challenges arise.
How can someone get involved with FMBA?
There are many ways to get involved—whether as a coach, scout, volunteer, or supporter. We welcome anyone who shares our passion for empowering minority youth in baseball and helping build a stronger, more inclusive community.
Why is it significant for FMBA to be minority-owned and operated?
Being minority-owned and operated ensures authenticity and cultural understanding. It allows us to provide a platform that reflects the experiences of minority players, families, and coaches, while fostering a sense of pride, belonging, and representation in the game of baseball.
We hope we were able to alleviate the many sterotypes about who we are and who we are not! However, if this didn't help you.....then maybe it's not for you to understand and we are ok with that! We would love to answer any other questions that were not addressed!
