This past Florida Shine Classic, FMBA proudly hosted the Rounding the Bases Parent Conference, and what an incredible gathering it was. Parents, coaches, panelists, and college representatives came together to have some of the most important and timely conversations surrounding amateur baseball and the journey of student-athletes and their families.
We want to extend a special thank you to the colleges and universities that participated — your presence, insight, and accessibility meant the world to the families in the room. You reminded our youth and parents that opportunity is real and reachable.
Throughout the day, we dug into topics that often get overlooked but are absolutely critical to the success and well-being of our athletes:
Balancing Support vs. Pressure – How to uplift without overwhelming
Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing – Normalizing the conversations that protect our youth
Navigating the College Recruiting Process – Clearing up myths and preparing for what’s ahead
The Role of Social Media & Personal Branding – Teaching athletes to be intentional and responsible online
Time Management & Burnout – Keeping balance when the calendar is full
Financial Strain of Competitive Sports – Addressing the hidden costs and offering real solutions
Lack of Clear Communication with Coaches & Organizations – Building bridges, not barriers
Fear of Injury and Long-Term Impact – Preparing families for recovery, not just performance
Building Confidence After Failure or Setbacks – How to bounce back stronger and smarter
Understanding Your Child’s Identity Beyond Sports – Because they are more than an athlete
We are deeply grateful to all of our panelists—educators, mental health professionals, former players, college recruiters, and parents—who gave their time and their hearts to make this conference a safe, honest, and empowering space.
A special thank you goes to our partners at Rise to Win, who led the powerful session “Sport as a Vehicle for Change.”That conversation reminded us that this game is bigger than stats and scholarships—it’s about shaping young lives.
As FMBA continues to grow, we’ll keep holding space for families to feel seen, heard, and prepared. Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared, and stayed engaged. This is how we build trust, raise awareness, and round the bases—together.
Stay tuned for more upcoming events and opportunities with FMBA. If you’re a parent, coach, or community partner ready to get involved, we’d love to have you.
